I grew up with a passion for riding and the freedom it afforded me at a young age. I lived a couple blocks away from a small shop, and spent enough time there that they started letting me change flat tires and assemble bikes-which eventually turned into a part-time job in junior high. I've been working in shops in different roles and capacities ever since.
